About our History

History of iMAGINE

In 2012, industry leaders identified K-12 education as a challenge to career readiness and a taskforce was formed to address this challenge. That same taskforce launched the Upstate SC STEM Collaborative in November of 2013 and began work on the iMAGINE STEAM Festivals.

Together we will continue to build upon our success by expanding and deepening our impact on students from PreK-12 through interactive learning experiences that expose students to potential STEAM careers. The festival has been a major success because of the tremendous support of the community and our education and industry partners.

Past Festivals

In partnership with the City of Greenville, iMAGINE Upstate hosted it's inaugural event in 2015. The first event saw tremendous growth in public awareness, attendance and participation in STEAM. We continued the annual event in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022! Together we will continue to build upon our success by expanding and deepening our impact on students from PreK-12 through interactive learning experiences that expose students to potential STEAM careers.

iMAGINE is a program of South Carolina’s Coalition for Mathematics & Science (SCCMS) at Clemson University.
